This was my first-place-winning submission for the Create Your Own Reality hard-surface design competition 2025.

The brief was to design a vehicle powered by a non-destructive resource. Thanks to The organizers and judges for arranging the competition.

Powered entirely by the wind, these craft are capable of traversing incredibly tough terrain and are the only method of exploring the deepest regions of the desert.

Following the great collapse, much of the Earth's surface was turned to desert. After the founding of The Republic, a new age of exploration began, this time voyaging through oceans of sand. Wind wheels allow for explorers to chart unknown regions and the delivery of supplies to the most remote settlements.

A skilled crew is needed to sail a wind wheel. The sails must be operated manually, and the gyro must be positioned precisely in order to counteract the torque of the sails and steer the wheel though the dunes. Any mistakes could cause the wheel to fall over. Capsized wheels cannot right themselves, and finding help out in the desert is unlikely.
